Construct-ing a Top Seller!
In the more recent years of Scirra's game engine: Construct 2, many developers (inlcuding myself) have been pushing the limits of the engine, making games that could easily be sold on par with any AAA title. Of these games, there are some particular ones that shine among the rest. Robot 505 is most definitely one of those games.
Robot 505 demonstrates, within it's unique mechanics, beautiful graphics, and satisfyingly responsive sound and effects, demonstrates why Construct 2 is listed as the best 2D game engine on the market, as well as pushes the community of indies that use it to try to match up.

The Platformer Spell
So, as you could easily see from the images, it's no question that this game is entertaining. Just look at that gif on the right, showcases what the gameplay is in realtime.
As many platformers do, this follows the simple, basic formula that most platformers do, and is not at all a problem, and is actually what will likely insure it's success. |
This is because, not only will the gameplay be something that gamers find familiar and can easily associate with, it also contains some noteworthy mechanics that might remind you of games like Contra and Metroid. Mechanics that could make for a very epic platformer experience.

Grade A Artwork
If you know me well enough, you'd know that anything that reminds me of Megaman, or takes any references... Copies... Clones... You know, fucking Megaman, it captures my heart. And this, my friends has a color pallet that reminds me of Megaman on roids.
I don't know who they hired to do this artwork, all I can say is they're doing something right. |
Lost Meh Words...
Sadly, there isn't much more I can say about the demo I got to play on the Scirra arcade alone, but I definitely see this game going places, it's future, painted in green moneys. Want to try it out to see for yourself? If you're a platformer fan, you'll love it, and the demo is free to play, here!
