A Top Down SHMUP
Clean'Em Up, aside from it's theme of wiping the hard drive of viruses, has some unique gameplay mechanics that I haven't seen often before. And even where I have seen it, I don't believe I've enjoyed it so much as I have with Clean'Em Up. Clean'Em Up is inspiring in it's simplistic, yet addictive shoot'em up gameplay that is as sound as a AAA title and could even be as famous as one if the developer had devoted more time to it's replayability and adding things like multiplayer.
Clean'Em Up is so interesting, in fact, it makes me want to desperately go back to something I've made before, remake it, and design it as something people might actually want to play regularly. (If you've looked at my sad portfolio, you might know what I'm talking about, PS I'll be giving a word on that later, and an update to animations I once promised a while back!)

One Hell of a SHMUP
|
Clean'Em Up is not only a great time passer, but an intense challenge that will keep you on the edge of your seat to the very end. It's definitely not for the feint of heart, and will take a few hours to complete. In terms of any other possible mechanics, the game seems to be slightly lacking. As for it's main mechanics, though, they're essentially flawless, and I definitely recommend trying it, especially if you're going to be looking into inventing your own top down shooter at any time, because it has a lot to offer to the genre.
Minimalism And All
Clean'Em Up is a relatively minimalist game, as is usually the case with the indie scene. And though I do quite enjoy it's artwork and stuff, I hope that there turns out to be more games like this on Game Jolt that satisfy my drive for a nice SHMUP while having some other great mechanics that will draw people's interest to keep playing the game.
In short, it's an awesome game, so great job Amidos!
